Feedback from the huge turnout at the O'Hara
open house showed just how much
people care about open space
The new park survey is also now live
Nearly a thousand people turned out throughout the morning of January 14th to add their voices to the planning process for the new park at Don Guanella. Among other activities, visitors were asked to place dots next to uses they'd like to see. Judging by the number of responses in three of the categories, it's clear by the pics below that saving the forest, maintaining the existing trails, and experiencing nature ranked highest among the possible future uses for the 183 wooded acres of the new park.  As for the remaining 30 acres, public input is still sought for what amenities/uses would be appropriate for that former school footprint.

If you weren't able to make the open house, there will be other opportunities for public input. One of these is the short survey linked to below. However, even if you did attend the open house, please take a moment to take the survey.
Take the new park survey!
